We offer Same Day Ultrasound Scans performed by highly experienced Sonographers
Abdomen Ultrasound
During an Abdominal ultrasound examination, the sonographer assesses the pancreas, aorta, gallbladder, bile duct, liver, kidneys, spleen, and surrounding areas. Prior to the appointment, patients need to follow a four-hour fasting period, during which they should refrain from eating, drinking, chewing, or smoking. This preparation ensures optimal scan results.
Female Pelvis Ultrasound
Gynaecology ultrasound includes comprehensive Transabdominal and Transvaginal scans. A full bladder is needed for the initial Transabdominal part. The Transvaginal scan is the gold standard for evaluating the cervix, uterus, ovaries, and surrounding areas. Your consent and an empty bladder are required for this part, and a female chaperone will be present if a male sonographer performs the scan.
Dating Ultrasound
An early pregnancy ultrasound is essential for confirming the presence, number, and viability of the embryo(s). The detection of the heartbeat is possible from a very early stage. The most precise due dates can be determined between 8-10 weeks of gestation, but it is crucial to conduct this scan as soon as any signs of pregnancy appear.
Morphology scan
The Morphology scan is an extensive pregnancy ultrasound that examines your baby's anatomy, observing the position of the placenta, the umbilical cord, and the amniotic fluid surrounding your baby. This scan, also referred to as the 'anomaly scan,' is recommended to be scheduled between 20-21 weeks of pregnancy.
Renal Ultrasound
During a renal ultrasound, your kidneys, ureters, and bladder are examined, and a full bladder is required for the assessment. For males, the examination also includes the assessment of the prostate, seminal vesicles, and other relevant structures.
Neck, Thyroid & Soft Tissue Structures
During a thyroid examination, the size, shape, and texture of the thyroid are evaluated, and the presence of any thyroid nodules is determined. Additionally, a neck ultrasound includes an assessment of the lymph nodes, salivary glands, and surrounding soft tissues.
Musculoskeletal Ultrasound (MSK)
Our high-frequency ultrasound probes provide clearer imaging of ligaments, tendons, muscles, and superficial structures like lumps and hernias. This advanced technology allows imaging of both upper body (shoulder, elbow, wrist, and hand) and lower body (hip/groin, knee, ankle, and foot/heel). Additionally, it effectively visualizes and assesses superficial structures like foreign bodies and lipomas.
Ultrasound Guided Injections/Biopsy/Drainage
Our clinic provides various types of ultrasound-guided injections. Among them are Cortisone (corticosteroids) injections, which serve as potent anti-inflammatory medication, effectively used for treating and alleviating pain from bursitis or joint inflammations. Additionally, we offer ultrasound-guided fine needle biopsies and aspirations to cater to specific medical needs.
Scrotal (Testes) Ultrasound
A male sonographer will conduct the testicular ultrasound, which is a standard procedure commonly performed to rule out infections, inflammation, lesions, torsion, palpable lumps, and other potential abnormalities in the testicles.
Vascular Ultrasound
At Quensland Ultrasound Clinic, we offer limited vascular ultrasound examinations, including Carotid duplex and assessments for DVTs (blood clots) in the upper and lower limbs.
